Game rules:
<ul>
<li>The game is played on an 8x8 board with alternating dark and light squares.</li>
<li>Each player starts with 12 pieces on the three rows closest to their own side. The row closest to each player is referred to as the "crownhead" or "kings row." The player with white pieces moves first.</li>
<li>Men move forward diagonally to an adjacent unoccupied square.</li>
<li>If a player's piece reaches the kings row on the opposing player's side of the board, that piece is "crowned," becoming a "king" and gaining the ability to move both backward and forward, choosing freely on which free square at this diagonal to stop.</li>
<li>If a man becomes a king, it can continue capturing opponents' pieces by jumping backwards. The player can choose where to land after the capture.</li>
<li>Capturing is mandatory and cannot be passed up for a non-jumping move. When there are multiple ways for a player to capture, they may choose which sequence to make. In that chosen sequence, the player must make all the captures. A captured piece remains on the board until all captures in a sequence have been made but cannot be jumped again (following Turkish capturing rules).</li>
<li>A player with no valid moves remaining loses. This occurs when a player has no pieces left or when their pieces are obstructed from making a legal move by their opponent's pieces. The game is considered a draw if neither opponent has the possibility of winning the game. The game is also considered a draw when the same position repeats itself for the third time, with each repetition having the same player to move. Furthermore, if one player proposes a draw and the opponent accepts the offer, the game is considered a draw. If a player has three kings in the game against a single enemy king and their 15th move cannot capture the enemy king, it is considered a draw.</li>
